ARTIST STATEMENT:
“A Child is a short film investigating the dual aspect of the state of the foetus being pure and unaffected yet easily impressionable. Although well protected in the mother’s womb, it is already being exposed to different sounds and touch, and thus, inevitably being shaped by its surroundings through its mother’s activities. Humour is an important element to my work, which also is what carried me through dealing with my pregnancy and the first strenuous and magical time at home suddenly being parents. A Child is a humorist take on the celebration of the complexity of the pregnant body and the state of a physical and mental transformation of both mother and baby, through which each affects the other beyond comprehension.”
